Hamilton police have arrested two women following an altercation over a parking spot that allegedly involved dragging a victim by their hair. The incident occurred on June 26, 2026, according to a news release from the Hamilton Police Service.
Altercation over parking spot turns violent
Police responded to reports of a physical fight in a parking lot in Hamilton. Witnesses told officers that two women became involved in a dispute with a third individual over a parking space. The argument escalated when the suspects allegedly grabbed the victim by the hair and dragged them across the pavement.
The victim sustained minor injuries and was treated at the scene. No further medical attention was required.
Arrests and charges
Officers located and arrested the two women shortly after the incident. Both face charges of assault causing bodily harm. Their names have not been released as the investigation continues.
“This was a senseless act of violence over a parking spot,” said Constable John Smith, a spokesperson for the Hamilton Police Service. “We urge the public to remain calm and resolve disputes peacefully.”
The suspects were held for a bail hearing. Police are asking anyone with additional information to contact them.
