Windsor police have launched a search for two individuals suspected of deliberately setting a fire that damaged a vacant home on Drouillard Road early Saturday morning, causing an estimated $75,000 in damage.
Details of the Deliberate Fire
Officers from the Windsor Police Service responded to a report of a blaze at a house located in the 1600 block of Drouillard Road at approximately 3:30 a.m. on Saturday, December 20. The fire was quickly determined to be suspicious in nature.
Investigators from the police arson unit have since reviewed video surveillance footage from the area. The footage allegedly shows two suspects approaching the rear of the vacant residence. According to police, the individuals are seen pouring an accelerant on the porch and exterior of the house before igniting the fire and fleeing the scene on foot.
No injuries were reported as a result of the incident, but the property sustained significant structural damage valued at roughly $75,000.
Suspect Descriptions and Public Appeal
Police have released detailed descriptions of the two individuals they are seeking in connection with the arson:
- Suspect One: Described as a white male, between 18 and 25 years old. He was wearing a black face covering, a black puffer jacket, a white hooded sweater, grey sweatpants with the number '25' on the left pant leg, and black Nike shoes.
- Suspect Two: Also described as a white male, aged 18 to 25. He was wearing a black face covering, a black hooded puffer jacket, black pants, and black shoes.
Authorities are urging area residents and business owners to review any personal surveillance or dashcam footage captured between 3 a.m. and 4 a.m. on December 20 for any evidence that could assist the investigation.

In a separate incident later that morning, Windsor firefighters were called to a second fire at a vacant, boarded-up duplex in the 600 block of Chatham Street East around 6 a.m. Fire officials reported heavy smoke that reduced visibility, but crews brought the blaze under control. No injuries were reported in that fire either.
