York Regional Police have made a significant breakthrough in an armed robbery case that took place at a Vaughan entertainment establishment last month, though two suspects remain at large and actively sought by authorities.
Violent Robbery at Langstaff Road Establishment
The incident occurred on October 22, 2025, when three individuals entered an entertainment lounge located on Langstaff Road near Weston Road. According to police reports, the suspects confronted a victim and demanded cash while brandishing weapons.
Investigators confirmed that one of the robbers carried what appeared to be a handgun, while two others were armed with knives. The trio managed to escape the scene with the victim's personal belongings, including a phone, computer, and an undisclosed amount of cash.
Police Investigation Leads to Arrest
Following an intensive investigation dubbed Project Calder, York Regional Police identified one suspect and obtained a search warrant for a residence in Toronto. The operation, conducted with assistance from the Emergency Response Unit, resulted in the seizure of a replica firearm and the arrest of a Toronto man.
Niccoy St. John, 24, of Toronto, now faces serious criminal charges including one count of robbery with a firearm and one count of wearing a disguise with intent to commit an indictable offence.
Search Continues for Two Additional Suspects
Despite this arrest, police continue to search for two other men believed to have participated in the armed robbery. Investigators have released detailed descriptions of the outstanding suspects in hopes the public can assist in their identification.
The first wanted individual is described as a Black male, tall with a thin build, who was wearing a black hoodie and black pants during the incident. The second suspect is also a Black male but shorter in stature with a thin build, last seen wearing a black zip-up hoodie and black pants.
York Regional Police have released an image of the arrested suspect, St. John, hoping it might help identify his alleged accomplices. Authorities are urging anyone with information about this investigation or the whereabouts of the two remaining suspects to contact the Hold-Up Unit at 1-866-876-5423, extension 6630, or provide anonymous tips through Crime Stoppers at 1-800-222-TIPS (8477).
