Second Arrest Made in 2024 Caledon Murder of Ontario Senior
Ontario Provincial Police have announced a second arrest in the murder of a senior in Caledon that occurred two years ago. Piotr Olszewski, a 42-year-old man from Toronto, was taken into custody on Wednesday and charged with arson and accessory after the fact to murder.
The charges stem from the death of David Robson, a 65-year-old resident of Melancthon Township, whose body was discovered on the morning of April 1, 2024, near the intersection of Chinguacousy Road and King Street. Robson had been reported missing on March 25, 2024, after last being seen in his hometown north of Orangeville on March 21, 2024.
Earlier this week, police arrested 29-year-old Jacek Trela of Mississauga, who faces charges of first-degree murder, arson, and indignity to a body. The investigation revealed that on the same day Robson was reported missing, his home was damaged in a fire.
Detective Inspector Mark Allison stated that while an arrest has been made, investigators believe other individuals may be involved. “Our goal is to hold all those responsible for David’s death accountable and provide answers to his family,” Allison said in a news release.
The case gained renewed attention after OPP investigators issued a fresh appeal in late March, putting up a billboard outside Orangeville featuring Robson’s photo to solicit more information. Police have emphasized that they do not believe there is a risk to public safety, as Robson’s death is not considered random.
The investigation remains ongoing, and authorities continue to urge anyone with information to come forward.
