Mississauga resident Kuo Yang Du, 36, has been arrested and charged with 15 counts of mischief over $5,000, along with assault and assault with a weapon, following a string of unprovoked attacks and property damage incidents across the city, Peel Regional Police confirmed.
Details of the Incidents
Police allege that the incidents began in November 2024 and occurred at various times, targeting unsuspecting victims in Mississauga. Victims were reportedly assaulted, or had rocks thrown at their vehicles and other property, causing damage. According to investigators, the victims had no prior interaction with the suspect.
Du was arrested on June 20, 2026, on an unrelated matter and subsequently charged. The charges include one count of assault, one count of assault with a weapon, and 15 counts of mischief over $5,000.
Police Seek Additional Victims
Authorities believe there may be other victims or witnesses who have not yet come forward. Peel Regional Police are urging anyone with information to contact investigators at 905-453-2121, Ext. 1133.
Separate Incident: Teen Arrested for Assault
In a related development, an 18-year-old man, Liam Jackman of Lindsay, has been arrested in connection with a violent altercation in Toronto's Leslieville neighbourhood. Toronto Police reported that on May 31, a late-night fight broke out between a group of people near Queen Street East and Leslie Street. During the brawl, one man was sprayed with a noxious substance, and a second victim was slashed with an edged weapon, sustaining serious but non-life-threatening injuries.
Jackman was arrested on June 27 and charged with carrying a concealed weapon, possession of a dangerous weapon, assault with a weapon, aggravated assault, assault, and three counts of administering a noxious thing. Police stated there are no other suspects outstanding.
