RCMP have charged a man from the Mini Thni Stoney First Nation with the murder of a 38-year-old Calgary woman. The suspect and the deceased were known to each other and lived together on the same property.

Incident Details

Mounties responded to a report of a family disturbance at a residence on the First Nation, located west of Calgary. Upon arrival, they discovered the body of a woman in a secondary residence on the property. The suspect had fled the scene before police arrived.

According to RCMP, the suspect was later located in a wooded area near the residence and was arrested without incident. Both the suspect and victim were residents of the property, and an autopsy conducted on Monday confirmed the woman's death was a homicide.

Charges Laid

Jorge Twoyoungmen, 18, has been charged with second-degree murder in the death of Kayla Rothe, 38. RCMP noted that a publication ban is in place regarding court proceedings and custody details.

The investigation continues, and authorities have not released further information at this time.
