Fort Saskatchewan drug bust nets meth, GHB, ammunition

Fort Saskatchewan RCMP have laid multiple charges against a local man following a significant drug and ammunition seizure at a residence in the Pine View area. The operation, which took place on Thursday, December 18, 2025, resulted from a targeted police investigation into suspected drug trafficking.

Targeted Raid Uncovers Drug Stash and Ammunition

The detachment's Crime Reduction Unit, supported by the General Investigation Section, executed a drug-related search warrant at the home. During the search, officers discovered and confiscated a substantial cache of controlled substances and other items.

The seized materials included:

  • More than one litre of GHB (Gamma-Hydroxybutyric acid)
  • 27 grams of cocaine
  • 1.2 pounds (approximately 544 grams) of crystal methamphetamine
  • 500 ml of liquid methamphetamine
  • 100 rounds of ammunition

Police also reported finding evidence inside the home that was consistent with the production of methamphetamine, indicating potential drug manufacturing activity at the location.

Suspect Arrested and Faces Multiple Charges

As a result of the raid, officers arrested Scott Allen Tanner, 46, of Fort Saskatchewan. He now faces a series of criminal charges related to the items found during the search.

The charges against Tanner include multiple counts of possession for the purpose of trafficking for the various drugs seized. He is also charged with failing to comply with a firearms or ammunition prohibition and possession of a weapon dangerous to the public.

Court Appearance Scheduled

Scott Allen Tanner is scheduled to make his first court appearance in Edmonton on Monday, December 22, 2025. The investigation was initiated after police received information and conducted a short probe into suspected drug trafficking in the community.

This bust highlights the ongoing efforts by Fort Saskatchewan RCMP to combat the distribution and production of illicit drugs in the region, particularly substances like methamphetamine and GHB, which pose significant public safety and health risks. The combination of drugs, ammunition, and production equipment represents a serious concern for community safety, which police say they actively work to address through targeted enforcement actions.
