GOP Strategist Slams Megyn Kelly's Hate-Filled Tirade on Haitians

GOP strategist and longtime Trump critic Steve Schmidt condemned Megyn Kelly for her vitriolic comments on Haitian immigrants. "She looks like she's about to orgasm on air as she releases the hatred," Schmidt told Jim Acosta on the journalist's show Friday.

Schmidt and Acosta React to Kelly's Remarks

Kelly generated backlash Thursday for her response to a Supreme Court ruling that allows the Trump administration to strip temporary protected status from nearly 400,000 Syrian and Haitian immigrants. Kelly voiced her general support for the ruling, though her hostility appeared more focused on Haitians.

"Go home! Get out. We know our country is better than yours," she said. "That's because we filled it with our work ethic and our culture and our values. You being here only dilutes it for us, those who built it and live it. And half of you people — more than half of you — you won't assimilate. We don't want you! We don't care if you're offended. Get out! Go home! Go back to fuckin' Haiti!"

Schmidt's Condemnation

"It's quite a thing to watch this hate spewing out," Schmidt said Friday. "And it's quite a thing ... this person was the host of presidential debates? And you see the sickness in her."

Acosta, for his part, referred to Kelly as a "shitstain on American media" and called her remarks "monstrous, reprehensible racism."

Impact of the Supreme Court Ruling

The ruling affects nearly 400,000 immigrants from Syria and Haiti who had temporary protected status. Kelly's comments have sparked widespread condemnation across media and political circles.
