Cobb asserted that Trump's mental acuity has "definitely accelerated" in its deterioration compared to when he served in the White House. He pointed to recent controversies as evidence, including Trump's attacks on the late filmmaker Rob Reiner and former special counsel Robert Mueller, as well as his feud with Pope Leo. According to Cobb, these incidents "just show you how crazy this man is," suggesting a pattern of erratic behavior that has intensified over time.
Loss of Guardrails in the Administration
Reflecting on his tenure, Cobb explained that during Trump's first term, key figures such as General John Kelly, General James Mattis, and Nikki Haley acted as crucial guardrails. They would often intervene to dissuade Trump from pursuing actions that seemed "out of bounds" due to his narcissistic tendencies. However, Cobb lamented that "they don't have those guardrails there today," implying that Trump now operates with fewer constraints, leading to more impulsive decisions.

Cobb expressed worry that Trump's perceived incapacity could be exploited by others to influence decisions. He specifically mentioned Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu, suggesting that Netanyahu might have manipulated Trump "in connection with the decision to go into Iran." Additionally, Cobb noted that Trump's "vocabulary has shrunk, he's resorted to profanity and threats, totally impulsive, suggestive of the absence of any frontal lobe controls," indicating a deeper cognitive issue.
