Regina police have charged a man with murder in connection with the death of 36-year-old Myles Anderson, whose body was discovered in the city's North Central neighbourhood earlier this month. The investigation involved the major crimes unit, the forensic identification unit, and the Saskatchewan Coroners Service.
Arrest and Charges
On Friday, the Regina Police Service (RPS) executed a search warrant at a residence in the 1600 block of Toronto Street, where they located and arrested 29-year-old Blayne Okemaysim. According to an RPS news release issued Monday morning, Okemaysim has been charged with second-degree murder. He was scheduled to appear in Regina Provincial Court on Monday morning.
Details of the Incident
Around 1:15 a.m. on April 13, officers responded to a report of an injured person in the 3100 block of 5th Avenue. Despite lifesaving efforts, the man—identified as Myles Anderson—was pronounced dead at the scene. The major crimes unit, forensic identification unit, and Saskatchewan Coroners Service were called in to assist with the investigation.
