Two pedestrians were transported to hospital in critical condition following a collision at a northeast Calgary intersection on Tuesday evening.

Incident details

Emergency crews responded to the scene at the intersection of 32nd Street N.E. and 20th Avenue N.E. shortly after the crash. Both victims were rushed to Foothills Medical Centre with life-threatening injuries.

The driver of the vehicle involved remained at the scene and is cooperating with authorities, police confirmed.

Road closures

As a result of the collision, the northbound lanes of 32nd Street N.E. are closed at Sunridge Way N.E., while southbound traffic is shut down at 24th Avenue N.E. Police are urging drivers to avoid the area and seek alternative routes.
