Massie, Greene Troll Trump With 'America First' Fishing Trip

MAGA outliers Rep. Thomas Massie (R-Ky.) and former congresswoman Marjorie Taylor Greene are trolling President Donald Trump just days after Massie lost his primary to challenger Ed Gallrein, who was backed by the president.

Fishing Trip Video

On Wednesday, the Kentucky congressman posted a video of himself and Greene hanging out on a boat during a fishing trip. The pair appeared to be in Costa Rica, according to The New York Times.

“America First Pacific Summit Retreat,” Massie captioned the footage on X. In the clip, Massie, dressed in a white shirt and shorts, worked to reel in what appeared to be a large swordfish while Greene stood off on the side of the boat.

Greene reposted Massie’s video on Wednesday, writing, “The first summit is underway, more to come.”

Political Context

Massie’s “America First” mention refers to Trump’s political agenda that supposedly emphasizes policies that prioritize America’s economic growth and national sovereignty in foreign relations. The president hasn’t appeared to publicly address Massie’s and Greene’s X posts.

Trump endorsed Gallrein, a retired Navy SEAL officer, after he and Massie butted heads on multiple issues, including the Jeffrey Epstein files and the U.S.-Israeli war on Iran.

Greene, once one of Trump’s most vocal supporters, suffered a public breakup with the president, which was spurred by her push for the Epstein Files Transparency Act, she said. The act, authored and championed by Massie and Representative Ro Khanna (D-Calif.), sparked harsh opposition from the president.

Greene announced her resignation from Congress on Nov. 21, 2025, days after Trump publicly withdrew his support for her, calling her a “ranting Lunatic” while accusing her of having “gone Far Left.”

Massie's 2028 Plans

On Monday, Massie announced he has filed paperwork to campaign for his U.S. House seat in 2028.

“I filed with FEC for the 2028 House race,” Massie wrote on X. “This allows me to raise funds to continue my political operations supporting my position as a current office holder and as a potential candidate for federal office. I haven’t made a final decision about which office to seek, if I run.”
