Kelsey Grammer Praises Trump as 'Very Chipper' at White House

Kelsey Grammer, the actor known for "Cheers" and "Frasier," visited President Donald Trump at the White House on Thursday, describing the president as "very chipper, very positive and uplifting" and emphasizing Trump's commitment to the "American experiment."

Grammer's Meeting with Trump

Grammer, 71, spent about an hour with Trump, promoting his new film "Young Washington," in which he plays Lord Fairfax. He told reporters he stopped by to "say hi to the big guy" and shared details of their conversation in a video posted by journalist Rabia İclal Turan. "It was fantastic today, just effervescent, fun," Grammer said. "We traded some old war stories about our lives, our personal lives, our wives, our families, and it was really nice to see him."

In a clip shared by Sam Lisker of Scripps News, Grammer was asked about Trump's performance on bipartisanship. Grammer replied: "I think he understands ... different political alignments will play out as they play out. I think he celebrates in his heart and in actuality the American experiment, which is honestly a story of two sides bashing heads all the time and finally coming out with some kind of middle ground."

Earlier Criticism of Trump Opponents

Earlier in the week, Grammer appeared on Fox News' "Jesse Watters Primetime" and criticized some of Trump's detractors. "There is a virus that has infected a very small number of people, I think, who just want to tear things down," he told Watters. "They've been consumed by hatred, and of course, hatred ends up basically destroying you ... I pray for them. I pray for everyone to find a decent sentiment in their hearts about this country about the people who run it these days."

Grammer's support for Trump is well-known, and his visit to the White House underscores his alignment with the president amid ongoing controversies, including military actions in Iran, inflation, and issues like the green-tinted Reflecting Pool.
