Calgary police have arrested and charged one man in connection with a weekend shooting outside a northeast Calgary business, while two additional suspects remain at large.
Incident Details
At approximately 3 a.m. on Sunday, police responded to reports of a man who had allegedly been shot outside the Samosa House, located at 4310 104th Avenue N.E. Officers believe the shooting stemmed from an altercation that occurred outside the Head Over Heels lounge, situated in the same plaza.
The victim, who was shot at, was uninjured.
Suspect Apprehended
Witnesses saw the suspect flee the scene in a grey 2019 Dodge Charger with Alberta license plate CTJ 0073 at a high rate of speed before police arrived, according to a Calgary Police Service news release. Assisted by the HAWCS helicopter, police conducted a traffic stop and took the suspect into custody. Officers seized a loaded Canik TP9sfx 9mm handgun from the vehicle.
Gurshish Singh Brar, 22, has been charged with one count each of discharging a firearm with intent and unauthorized possession of a firearm. Brar appeared in court on Monday.
Ongoing Investigation
Police are still searching for two more suspects believed to be involved in the shooting, described as men between 20 and 30 years old. Although the vehicle was located, police have released a photo of it in case anyone recognizes the vehicle and has information about the incident.
Investigators continue to probe the circumstances that led to the shooting.

Weekend Violence
This shooting followed multiple others in the city over the weekend that resulted in four injured men:
- Friday morning shortly after 6 a.m., police responded to a shooting in Forest Lawn after a man suffering from a gunshot wound sought help at a residence on 44th Street S.E. near Forest Lawn High School.
- Friday night just before 11 p.m., two men were found with gunshot-related injuries at a Beltline apartment building. Both were taken to Foothills Medical Centre in serious condition but have since been upgraded to non-life-threatening.
- Shortly after 3 a.m. Saturday, officers responded to a shooting incident in the 400 block of 5th Avenue S.E., where they found a man under a bridge with gunshot-related injuries.
Police continue to investigate all incidents and urge anyone with information to come forward.
