Barrie Police have concluded that the deaths of a couple in north Barrie were the result of a homicide followed by a suicide. Authorities stated there is no ongoing threat to the public.
Investigation Details
Police were called to a residence in the north end of the city on Thursday afternoon. Upon arrival, officers discovered the bodies of a man and a woman. The investigation determined that one individual killed the other before taking their own life.
Barrie Police spokesperson Peter Leon confirmed the findings, saying, "This was a tragic incident of domestic violence that ended in homicide-suicide. There is no risk to the broader community."
