A 15-year-old boy has been charged following a stabbing that left a 41-year-old man injured in Saskatoon, according to police. The incident occurred on July 9, 2026, in the 400 block of Avenue P South.

Details of the incident

Police responded to a report of a stabbing at approximately 8:30 p.m. local time. Upon arrival, officers found a 41-year-old man with a stab wound. He was transported to hospital with non-life-threatening injuries, according to Saskatoon Police Service.

The teen suspect was located nearby and taken into custody without incident. He has been charged with aggravated assault and possession of a weapon for a dangerous purpose. The accused cannot be named under the Youth Criminal Justice Act.

Investigation ongoing

Police say the victim and suspect were known to each other, and the stabbing was not a random act. The investigation is ongoing, and officers are asking anyone with information to contact them or Crime Stoppers.

This is the second stabbing in Saskatoon in recent weeks. On June 28, a 23-year-old man was stabbed in the 100 block of Avenue Q South. No arrests have been made in that case.
