Regina Police Seize 4.2 kg Meth, 0.5 kg Fentanyl, Guns

Regina police seized 4.2 kilograms of methamphetamine, approximately 0.5 kilograms of fentanyl, a small amount of cocaine, multiple firearms, and thousands of dollars in cash following a two-month investigation, according to a news release from the Regina Police Service (RPS) on Wednesday.

Arrest and Seizure Details

Officers from the RPS Drug Unit, with assistance from the Tactical Support Unit, arrested a 43-year-old Regina man outside a building in the 3200 block of Arens Road on June 18. A search of the man revealed a loaded handgun, a knife, and brass knuckles.

Subsequent searches of a residence and two vehicles yielded the drugs, including 4.2 kg of methamphetamine and about 0.5 kg of fentanyl, as well as a small amount of cocaine. The rough street value of the drugs is estimated at $115,000, the release states. Police also seized $7,795 in cash, additional guns, and ammunition.

Charges and Court Appearance

The man faces more than 25 charges related to drugs and weapons, according to the release. He appeared in Regina provincial court on June 19.

In a related development, an additional search warrant was executed in Saskatoon on June 18, leading to the arrest of a 32-year-old man. Police seized $31,090.25 in cash, a truck, a phone, and paraphernalia consistent with drug trafficking. The Saskatoon man faces two charges associated with drug trafficking and appeared in Saskatoon provincial court on Monday.
