A one-year-and-five-month-old Dwarf rabbit named Snoopy is looking for his forever home at the Toronto Humane Society. He was surrendered to the shelter in December 2025 and has been waiting for a family ever since.
Personality and Behavior
According to THS spokesperson Lucas Solowey, Snoopy is a clever, curious, and active rabbit. He thrives when given space to explore and enjoys enrichment such as tunnels, chew toys, treats, and independent activities. Despite his playful nature, Snoopy can be sensitive to new environments and takes time to settle. He may appear nervous at first, but with patience and the right environment, he becomes a sweet and well-behaved companion.
Ideal Home Environment
Snoopy requires a spacious enclosure with hiding spots, a litter box, and areas for fresh food and water. Ideally, his new home should also provide a bunny-proofed space where he can hop around and explore safely. Solowey emphasizes that a calm, predictable household is best for Snoopy. He would do well in an adult-only home or one with older children who understand the need for quiet and space. A home without young children or excessive activity is recommended to help him feel secure.
Diet and Social Needs
Snoopy's main diet consists of hay, dandelion greens, kale, lettuce, green or red peppers, and dry pellets. While rabbits generally enjoy the company of other rabbits, a proper introduction is necessary. Snoopy may bond with another bunny, but it is important to ensure compatibility. As for other pets, a calm and gradual introduction is advised.
How to Win Snoopy Over
Solowey suggests that the best way to earn Snoopy's trust is through quiet companionship. Spending time near his enclosure, offering treats, speaking softly, and allowing him to choose when to interact are key. With patience and consistency, Snoopy can become a loving lap bunny who enjoys being petted once he feels safe.
