7 Metro Vancouver Mexican Restaurants on Our Radar

A new Davie Street restaurant is putting a Mexican twist on classic West Coast dishes. Davie Social, which opened in February, is the creation of head chef Henry Xie and manager Alejandro Sanchez, who previously worked together at Coast Coal Harbour Hotel. Their menu features items like fish and chips, chicken sandwiches, and smash burgers with an equatorial flair.

Davie Social: A Neighborhood Hang with Live Music

On a recent Monday evening, house music filled the air as windows opened to the sights and sounds of Davie Street. Tree sculptures rise from the bar like pillars. Once home to Hamburger Mary's, the corner eatery now hosts live music on Thursdays and DJs on weekends. Crowd favorites include the chicken sandwich with maple habanero aioli and the churro waffle topped with candied pecans and maple walnut gelato.
