Fund for Youth After Teacher Killed in Crash with Students

A year after a tragic crash claimed the life of a beloved teacher and four students, loved ones are working to ensure his legacy lives on through a fund aimed at helping young people.

Remembering Mathew Eckert

Mathew Eckert, a teacher and coach at Walkerton District Community School, was killed on May 23, 2025, in a collision near Dorchester, Ontario. The crash also took the lives of four of his students. The community has been mourning the loss ever since.
