Chrysler Announces 2027 Pacifica Refresh for New York Auto Show Debut
Chrysler and Dodge CEO Matt McAlear is set to unveil the mid-cycle refresh of the Windsor-built 2027 Chrysler Pacifica at the prestigious New York International Auto Show on April 1, 2026. This highly anticipated reveal marks a significant milestone for the automaker as it continues to innovate within the minivan segment it pioneered over four decades ago.
Building on a Legacy of Innovation
The company first announced plans for this refresh back in June, though specific details have remained closely guarded until now. In an official statement, McAlear emphasized Chrysler's ongoing commitment to the minivan category, stating: "Chrysler continues to define the minivan segment it created 43 years ago, and the refreshed 2027 Pacifica builds on the beautiful design, class-leading innovations, advanced safety features and purpose-built character that have made our minivans trusted family members for decades."
Windsor Assembly Plant's Crucial Role
The Windsor Assembly Plant in Ontario serves as the exclusive production facility for several key Chrysler models, including:
- The Chrysler Pacifica
- The Chrysler Grand Caravan for the Canadian market
- The Chrysler Voyager for the U.S. market
- The Dodge Charger, which earned North American Car of the Year honors in January
This manufacturing hub has proven instrumental to Chrysler's recent success. Windsor-built minivans helped drive a remarkable 61-percent increase in Canadian sales for the Chrysler brand last year, with numbers jumping from 10,394 vehicles in 2024 to 16,718 in 2025. Additionally, Chrysler sold an impressive 110,006 Pacificas in the United States during the same period.
Concept Vehicle and Additional Reveals
Beyond the refreshed production model, Chrysler plans to showcase the Pacifica Grizzly Peak concept vehicle, described as a reimagining of the award-winning Chrysler Pacifica as an overlanding adventure vehicle. This lifted, all-wheel-drive concept features unique badging, distinctive exterior and interior design elements, and extensive customization options tailored for overlanding enthusiasts.
The Grizzly Peak concept maximizes interior space by replacing third-row seats with a large cargo floor panel, allowing for flexible cabin configurations suitable for storage or sleeping arrangements during extended adventures.
Dodge Brand Highlights
The New York auto show will also feature several Dodge brand announcements, including:
- The 2026 Dodge Durango America250 special edition
- The next-generation, 550-horsepower, Sixpack-powered Windsor-built Dodge Charger, which will debut a new sub-zero exterior color
The Pacifica nameplate returned to the Chrysler lineup in February 2016 when the Windsor plant began production, with the first models hitting the market for the 2017 model year. Since then, it has established itself as a leader in the competitive minivan segment, combining family-friendly functionality with innovative features that continue to evolve with each new iteration.
