A Winnipeg man has died following a single-vehicle crash near Kenora, Ontario, according to police. The incident occurred on Highway 17, approximately 20 kilometers east of Kenora, on Tuesday afternoon.

Ontario Provincial Police responded to reports of a collision at around 2:30 p.m. local time. Upon arrival, officers found a vehicle that had left the roadway and struck a tree. The driver, a 34-year-old man from Winnipeg, was pronounced dead at the scene. His identity has not been released pending notification of next of kin.

Police have closed a section of Highway 17 for several hours to allow for investigation.
