B.C.'s Greta Dopp Becomes Peloton's First Canadian Instructor
Greta Dopp named Peloton's first Canadian instructor

Peloton has made a historic Canadian appointment, naming Greta Dopp as the company's first-ever Canadian instructor. The British Columbia resident will bring her unique fitness perspective to the global platform, marking a significant milestone for Canadian representation in the digital fitness world.

From DM to Dream Job: The Unconventional Hiring Story

In a modern twist on career advancement, Dopp revealed that Peloton initially reached out through social media direct messages. "Like any good modern love story, Peloton slid into my DMs," Dopp shared with Postmedia. Fortunately, she regularly checks her message requests and responded to their invitation for a conversation.

Later in the hiring process, Dopp discovered the company had found her through her signature Vancouver class that combines yoga asana and philosophy, Pilates, functional strength, and music-driven sequencing. This distinctive approach will form the foundation of her new Sculpt Flow classes on the Peloton platform, which she's excited to share with the broader Peloton community.

Representing Canadian Diversity and Spirit

For Dopp, being selected as Peloton's inaugural Canadian instructor carries profound personal significance. "It means more than I can even say honestly," she expressed, noting the overwhelming support she's already received from Canadian Peloton users.

Her background reflects Canada's multicultural tapestry—born in Thailand, raised in Ontario, and now calling Squamish home for the past five years. "Canada is this beautiful mix of cultures and backgrounds, and as someone who's half Thai and half Canadian, I feel very proud to hopefully reflect that," Dopp explained. She looks forward to creating space for the Canadian Peloton community and bringing Canadian spirit to the platform.

How Squamish Transformed Her Fitness Philosophy

Dopp credits her move to Squamish with fundamentally changing her relationship with fitness. "Squamish changed everything for me," she emphasized, contrasting her previous experience as an "Ontario girly" with her current mountain lifestyle.

Surrounded by mountains, trails, and water, Dopp found that movement evolved from being merely a "workout" to becoming an integral lifestyle. The natural environment inspires outdoor activity, whether climbing mountains, snowboarding with friends, exploring nature, or simply walking her dog.

Fitness serves as both an anchor and source of joy in Dopp's life, particularly in managing mental health challenges. "Movement has always been my anchor," she noted. "Being able to physically move energy through my body has been a huge part of how I cope, reset, and reconnect to myself."

Dopp will lead her inaugural Peloton class on December 6, 2025, bringing her unique blend of Canadian spirit and West Coast fitness philosophy to Peloton's global audience.
