TeaPot Declares Take Your Mom to the Dispensary Day

TeaPot, the award-winning cannabis-infused iced tea brand from The Boston Beer Company’s Canadian-based subsidiary (BBCCC, Inc.), has declared a new holiday: Take Your Mom to the Dispensary Day, to be celebrated annually on the second Saturday of May. This year, the holiday falls on May 9, 2026, just before Mother’s Day.

A New Tradition for Cannabis Enthusiasts

Since cannabis was legalized in Canada in 2018, consumption among older adults has increased faster than any other age group. Despite legalization, stigma around cannabis use persists, particularly for older adults. TeaPot aims to change that by encouraging people to bring their mothers to a dispensary and share a cannabis-infused iced tea experience.

“TeaPot is easy to understand, easy to consume, and best enjoyed with those you can truly be yourself with,” said Paul Weaver, Boston Beer’s head of cannabis, based in Toronto. “Take Your Mom to the Dispensary Day may be tongue in cheek, but it also reflects a broader shift in the stigma surrounding cannabis that extends beyond generational lines.”

How to Celebrate

TeaPot suggests the following steps to celebrate the new holiday:

  • Choose the mother figure in your life: mom, grandma, wife, aunt, mother-in-law, stepmom, mom-friend, or dog mom.
  • Mark your calendar for the Saturday before Mother’s Day, May 9, 2026.
  • Visit the TeaPot website to find the nearest retailer among over 2,000 locations across Canada.
  • Bring mom to the dispensary and help her select the perfect TeaPot flavor.
  • Celebrate responsibly and create new memories together.

“Our new Raspberry Black Tea contains 10mg of THC, 10mg of CBG, and 30mg of naturally occurring caffeine, which should make for an extra chill family gathering,” added Weaver.
