Meghan McCain relished the chance to insult her former co-workers after Vice President JD Vance's hectic Tuesday appearance on 'The View.' The conservative personality, who co-hosted the ABC roundtable from 2017 to 2021, shared her feelings in an X post barely an hour after Vance's hot-and-cold interview wrapped.
'My biggest takeaway from Vance on 'The View' is honestly how shitty and undisciplined the hosts STILL ARE,' McCain wrote. 'After all these years they still get basic facts wrong, flub easy questions and can't get through a segment without yelling at each other.' She added that she thought 'Vance handled it all very well.'
Things did get heated at several points during the vice president's half-hour sit-down, where he got grilled about the economy, his administration's immigration crackdown, the Epstein files and more. Outnumbered six-to-one, Vance repeatedly struggled to get a word in as the panelists barraged him with questions and criticism.
Internal Clash on Set
The chaos even prompted co-hosts Whoopi Goldberg and Ana Navarro to clash after Goldberg scolded Navarro for continuing to hound Vance just as the show was set for a commercial break. Losing her cool live on-air, Goldberg snapped and said, 'Ana, God, please!'
McCain savored the tension during Wednesday's episode of her podcast, 'Meghan McCain Has Entered the Chat,' where she said watching Navarro and Goldberg bicker 'warms my cold, dark heart.'
McCain's Ongoing Criticism
Since leaving 'The View,' the daughter of late Sen. John McCain has been more than open about how much she hated her time there. During a 2023 episode of her podcast, she called her ex-colleagues 'crazy old people' and bullies.
'The thing about 'The View' is that I didn't know when I signed my contract with ABC that this is forever, that for the rest of my life, I'm going to be bullied, yelled at, abused, and brought up for years,' McCain explained to her listeners.
