Bookmanager has released its weekly list of the 30 bestselling books in Canada, compiled from sales data at more than 250 independent bookstores across the country for the week ending June 13.
New Releases
The top new release is Daughters of the Sun and Moon: A Novel by Lisa See. Following at number two is Villa Coco: A Novel by Andrew Sean Greer. The third spot goes to The Double Life of Eve Sinclair by C.C. Humphreys. Harvest Season by Brynne Weaver ranks fourth, and Contrapposto: A Novel by Dave Eggers completes the top five new releases.
Rounding out the new releases list are Light Wielder by Rachel Schneider at six, Atmosphere: A Love Story by Taylor Jenkins Reid at seven, Murder in Paris ’68: A True Story of Death and Glamour by Edward Chisholm at eight, Nymph: A Novel by Sofia Montrone at nine, and Midsummer Sisters by Niki Smith at ten.
Fiction Bestsellers
In fiction, Whistler: A Novel by Ann Patchett takes the top spot. Second is Land by Maggie O’Farrell, followed by The Correspondent: A Novel by Virginia Evans at three. The Midnight Train by Matt Haig ranks fourth, and The Last Mandarin: A Novel (Indie Exclusive Edition) by Louise Penny and Melissa Fung is fifth.
Other fiction entries include Our Perfect Storm: A Novel by Carley Fortune at six, John of John by Douglas Stuart at seven, and three books by Matt Dinniman: Carl’s Doomsday Scenario at eight, A Parade of Horribles at nine, and The Dungeon Anarchist’s Cookbook at ten.
Non-Fiction Bestsellers
Leading the non-fiction list is The Land and Its People: Essays by David Sedaris. Second is London Falling by Patrick Radden Keefe, followed by The Book of Birds by Robert Macfarlane and Jackie Morris at three. Strangers: A Memoir of Marriage by Belle Burden is fourth, and Famesick: A Memoir by Lena Dunham is fifth.
The remaining top ten non-fiction titles are When the Forest Breathes: Renewal and Resilience in the Natural World by Suzanne Simard at six, The Serviceberry: Abundance and Reciprocity in the Natural World by Robin Wall Kimmerer at seven, The Little Frog’s Guide to Self-Care by Maybell Eequay at eight, The Little Frog’s Guide to Life by Maybell Eequay at nine, and Make Believe: On Telling Stories to Children by Mac Barnett at ten.
