The Skills Canada National Competition (SCNC) 2026 concluded with a grand closing ceremony in Toronto, where national champions were recognized for their exceptional talents in skilled trades and technology. The event, held at the Enercare Centre, brought together over 500 students and apprentices from across Canada, competing in more than 40 skill areas.
Medalists Recognized Across Six Sectors
Competitors earned medals in six key sectors: transportation, construction, manufacturing and engineering, information technology, services, and employment. Each participant was evaluated against rigorous industry standards, showcasing the best young skilled talent in the country.

Thousands Attend the Event
Throughout the competition, thousands of student visitors, industry leaders, government officials, and celebrity guests took part in onsite activities. Highlights included the Skills Showcase featuring First Nations, Inuit, and Métis skills, the Empowering Women in Trades initiative, and more than 50 Try-A-Trade and Technology activities.
Celebrity appearances included television personalities Sherry Holmes and Michael Holmes Jr., as well as five TikTok Creators, thanks to a partnership with TikTok Canada aimed at promoting skilled trades as viable career options for young Canadians.
RBC Best of Region Awards
RBC Future Launch presented the RBC Best of Region Award, worth $1,500, to the top competitor or team from each province and territory. This annual award supports these leaders as they continue their education and training in the skilled trades industry.
