The incident unfolded on Wednesday when Wellington County OPP conducted a traffic stop on a commercial motor vehicle traveling through the Fergus area. What began as a standard inspection quickly escalated when officers detected signs of alcohol consumption by the driver.

During the comprehensive investigation, police identified several concerning violations. The 47-year-old Mississauga resident was found to be operating the commercial vehicle while his ability was impaired by alcohol, posing a serious risk to public safety.
