Geotab Expands Public Sector Contract with Video Telematics, Asset Tracking
Geotab Expands Sourcewell Contract for Public Sector

In a move set to significantly enhance operational capabilities for government and public service fleets across Canada, Geotab Inc. has announced a major expansion of its cooperative purchasing agreements. The global leader in connected transportation and asset management revealed on December 15, 2025, that its contracts with Sourcewell and Canoe Procurement Group now include four new, advanced solutions.

New Solutions for Complex Public Sector Needs

The expanded contract provides streamlined access to GO Focus, GO Focus Plus, GO Anywhere, and the Altitude by Geotab data analytics platform. This enhancement is designed specifically to help public sector agencies tackle unique challenges, from improving driver safety and asset utilization to enabling data-driven infrastructure planning. By leveraging these pre-negotiated contracts, agencies can bypass lengthy procurement processes and deploy tailored telematics solutions more rapidly, meeting their specific operational and stringent security requirements.

"Public sector fleets face unique challenges, from managing diverse assets to planning for future infrastructure needs," explained Neil Garrett, Associate Vice President of Business Development, Government at Geotab. "By adding GO Focus, GO Anywhere, and Altitude to our Sourcewell contract, we are providing powerful, purpose-built tools that directly address these challenges."

Details of the Added Technologies

The newly included solutions offer a comprehensive toolkit for modern public sector operations:

GO Focus and GO Focus Plus are AI-powered dashcams. The GO Focus is a road-facing camera that provides event-specific recording and real-time safety insights to help prevent collisions. The GO Focus Plus adds a driver-facing camera with advanced AI detection to immediately address risks like distracted driving, featuring automated video coaching workflows to improve driver habits.

GO Anywhere is an asset tracker designed for non-powered or intermittently used equipment such as trailers, generators, and construction machinery. It delivers real-time visibility to optimize how these assets are used, deter theft, and improve recovery rates.

Altitude by Geotab is a sophisticated transportation data and analytics platform. It transforms anonymized, aggregated data from Geotab's network of over 5.7 million commercial vehicles into actionable mobility insights. Public sector planners can use this data to improve road infrastructure, refine freight planning, reduce congestion, and meet federal reporting mandates.

Additionally, the contract continues to provide access to Geotab Routing & Optimization, which uses a proprietary algorithm to create the most efficient routes, saving fuel, lowering costs, and boosting productivity for public service fleets.

A Trusted Partner with Proven Security

This contract expansion reinforces Geotab's position as a primary telematics provider for government agencies. The company's security credentials are a key factor, featuring FedRAMP and ISO 27001 certifications for its platform. Notably, its cryptographic module has also achieved FIPS 140-3 validation from both the U.S. National Institute of Standards and Technology (NIST) and the Canadian Centre for Cyber Security (CCCS).

The effectiveness and trust in Geotab's secure ecosystem are demonstrated by a significant milestone: the company has now surpassed one million public sector subscriptions. This achievement underscores the confidence that government entities place in its compliant and reliable services, further solidified by its reaffirmation of the world's largest telematics contract with the U.S. General Services Administration (GSA).

With these additions, Geotab offers the public sector a complete, secure, and easily accessible ecosystem for modern fleet and data management, empowering agencies to work more effectively and efficiently for their communities.
