Three sisters have opened a new thrift store in Eastern Passage, Nova Scotia, with a mission to give back to the community. Pop-Up Thrift Co., located in the heart of the small coastal community, offers a curated selection of second-hand clothing, accessories, and household items.
A Family Affair
The store is the brainchild of siblings Sarah, Emily, and Rachel, who wanted to combine their passion for sustainable fashion with community service. “We’ve always loved thrifting, and we saw a need for an affordable, eco-friendly shopping option in our area,” said Sarah, the eldest sister. “But more importantly, we wanted to use this business to support local charities.”
A portion of every sale at Pop-Up Thrift Co. is donated to local non-profits, including food banks, youth programs, and animal shelters. The sisters also plan to host regular clothing swaps and donation drives to further engage the community.
Sustainable and Affordable
The store features gently used clothing for men, women, and children, as well as books, toys, and home decor. Prices are kept low to ensure accessibility for all residents. “We believe everyone deserves to look good without breaking the bank,” said Emily. “And by reusing items, we’re helping the environment too.”
The sisters hope their venture inspires others to shop second-hand and support local causes. “It’s amazing to see the community come together,” Rachel added. “We’re just getting started.”
