Edmonton's Housing Industry Celebrates Top Performers in Prestigious Awards

Edmonton's annual housing awards have once again highlighted the city's most accomplished builders and developers, with three familiar names dominating the finalist list for the 2026 Awards of Excellence in Housing. The BILD Edmonton Metro organization has revealed its finalists, showcasing the remarkable achievements within the region's real estate development sector.

A Shift in Leadership Among Top Contenders

For the 2026 awards cycle, the Rohit Group has emerged as the frontrunner with an impressive 23 finalist spots, marking a significant shift from last year's standings. StreetSide Developments follows closely with 17 finalist positions, while Cantiro rounds out the top three with 15 nominations. This represents a notable change from the previous year when Cantiro led the pack, followed by StreetSide and then Rohit.

The awards ceremony represents BILD Edmonton Metro's most prestigious event of the year, featuring 56 distinct awards across 10 comprehensive categories. With more than 600 submissions carefully reviewed by a panel of national industry judges, only 290 projects and companies earned the distinction of becoming finalists.

Detailed Breakdown of Top Performers

The Rohit Group's 23 finalist placements include 10 positions in the advertising portion of the awards, encompassing categories such as Best Website/Mobile App. Additionally, the company secured six spots in the development segment, including Starling South (adjacent to Big Lake) for Best New Community. Rohit is also competing for the Innovation Leader and Safety Excellence awards.

StreetSide Developments has demonstrated particular strength in multi-family categories, securing nine of its finalist spots across all six available awards in this segment. More than 65 BILD Edmonton Metro members—including builders, developers, and general members—received at least one finalist spot across the announced categories. Following the top three companies, Brookfield secured 12 nominations, while Jayman Built, Sterling Homes, and Ackard Contractors each earned 11 finalist spots.

"Our members don't just build, renovate, develop, supply, design, and sell—they help shape vibrant, lasting communities that strengthen our region and enrich the lives of the people who live in them," said BILD Edmonton Metro CEO Kalen Anderson. "To be named a finalist is a remarkable achievement, and we are very proud to celebrate the innovation, dedication, and commitment demonstrated by this year's outstanding honourees."
