Pecoy Copper Adds Third Drill Rig as Peru Exploration Accelerates

VANCOUVER, British Columbia — Pecoy Copper Corp. (TSXV: PCU; FSE: D5E; OTCQB: PCUUF) has announced the commencement of a third drill rig at its 100%-owned Pecoy Copper-Gold-Molybdenum-Silver Project in southern Peru. This expansion marks a significant milestone in the company's ongoing exploration drilling program.

Expanded Drilling Capacity

The addition of the third rig increases active drilling capacity and supports the planned 35,000-metre diamond drilling program. The program focuses on testing high-priority copper targets, expanding geological understanding, and following up on areas of interest identified in previous exploration work.

Current Drilling Zones

Drilling is underway across the Center of the Pit and Central Breccia zones. The third rig has re-initiated activities in the South Breccia zone, where earlier holes returned strong results.

Management Statement

Vincent Metcalfe, President and CEO, commented: "The commencement of a third drill rig marks an important step forward as we continue to advance our exploration program. With the rainy season behind us, drilling activities will intensify in the coming months. Increased capacity allows us to test priority targets more efficiently and build a comprehensive understanding of the project's potential."

Drill Hole Progress

  • PEC-25-065: Complete, 1,186.25 m drilled
  • PEC-25-066: Complete, 1,068.50 m drilled
  • PEC-26-067 to PEC-26-069: Assays pending
  • PEC-26-070 to PEC-26-072: In progress

Project Highlights

  • Large copper system with inferred resource of 865 Mt at 0.34% Cu (~6.5 billion pounds copper)
  • Multiple breccia centres including South Breccia
  • Favourable topography for potential open-pit mining
  • Low elevation (~1,650 m) with year-round access and proximity to infrastructure
  • District-scale upside at Tororume (~8 km north)

Initial South Breccia holes returned: PEC25-065 intersected 1,014.0 m of 0.37% Cu and 0.13 g/t Au from 17 m; PEC25-066 intersected 1,020.5 m of 0.43% Cu and 0.09 g/t Au from 48 m. The company remains committed to executing the program safely and responsibly, with further updates to follow as drilling progresses.
