Domestic Metals Expands Targeting Initiative at Smart Creek Copper Project

VANCOUVER, British Columbia – Domestic Metals Corp. (TSXV: DMCU; OTCQB: DMCUF; FSE: 03E0) has announced a significant expansion of its exploration targeting budget for the Smart Creek Copper Project in Montana. This decision follows the company's recent surface exploration program, which yielded high-grade results for copper, gold, and silver, as detailed in a news release dated January 8, 2026.

Surface Exploration Confirms Mineralization Potential

The company's surface rock sampling and geological mapping efforts have not only increased the size of target areas but also confirmed the potential for high-grade mineralization in porphyry and epithermal environments. Additionally, the presence of related Carbonate Replacement Deposit (CRD) style mineralization has been verified. Domestic Metals has now identified each of these mineralization styles exposed at the surface at Smart Creek, paving the way for follow-up diamond drilling scheduled to commence in April 2026.

High-Grade Assay Results from 2026 Exploration

The surface exploration program produced several notable assay results, including:

  • 102 g/t Au (Sample G019007)
  • 74.7 g/t Au, 13.8% Cu, 3810 g/t Ag (Sample G019235)
  • 30.4 g/t Au (Sample G019001)
  • 26.6 g/t Au (Sample G019353)
  • 23.1% Cu, 424 g/t Ag (Sample G019225)
  • 19.65% Cu, 458 g/t Ag (Sample G019031)
  • 19.05% Cu, 582 g/t Ag (Sample G019038)

For more detailed information on these surface sampling results, refer to the company's news release from January 8, 2026.

Smart Creek Copper Porphyry Target

Previous exploration drilling has been concentrated at the Smart Creek target, where surface alteration and mineralization align with the distal porphyry environment. By leveraging historical drilling data and newly collected surface geological and geochemical information, Domestic Metals has established a robust exploration drilling target west of the historical drilling footprint. Furthermore, exotic copper mineralization south of the Smart Creek target, known as Smart Creek Exotic Copper, appears to overlay distal copper porphyry-related mineralization, suggesting the potential for a second porphyry center westward of the historical drilling area.

Sunrise Porphyry Copper Target

Approximately 1 kilometer east of the past-producing Sunrise Mine, Domestic Metals has identified mineralized porphyry dykes exposed at the surface. These intrusions are interpreted to represent the top of a new porphyry system at Smart Creek. The depth extent of this surface mineralization will be tested as part of the upcoming diamond drill program, aiming to uncover further resources in the region.

Radio Tower Carbonate Replacement Targets

The 2025 surface exploration program revealed several previously unrecognized semi-massive and massive sulphide CRD lenses exposed at the surface within the Radio Tower alteration footprint. These high-grade copper-gold-silver lenses have been prioritized for drill delineation and will be tested once a second round of permitting is completed for the project. Additional mapping and sampling are planned for the spring to further de-risk these targets and enhance exploration efficiency.
