VANCOUVER – Brixton Metals Corporation has officially launched a significant new phase of exploration at its wholly owned Langis Silver Project, located in the prolific silver district of Ontario's historic Cobalt Camp. The company announced the start of drilling activities on January 13, 2026, marking a major step in evaluating the property's high-grade potential.
Ambitious Drill Program Targets Silver Expansion
The fully funded 2026 phase one campaign is substantial, planning for approximately 15,000 meters of shallow, near-surface drilling. This work has a dual focus: expanding and infilling known high-grade silver zones, while also testing new areas of potential mineralization along identified structural trends. The project site is situated roughly 500 kilometers north of Toronto and benefits from established infrastructure, including all-season road access, power, rail connections, and proximity to a refiner.
Historic High-Grade Results Underpin New Campaign
The decision to launch this extensive program is backed by compelling historical data from the property. Mineralization at Langis presents as native silver in various forms, including veins, veinlets, and fracture infill, often associated with minerals like calcite, cobaltite, and gold. Rock samples have returned spectacular grades, with one grab sample from the Shaft 7 dump assaying up to 182,065 grams per tonne (g/t) silver.
Previous drilling by Brixton has consistently intercepted high-grade silver, providing clear targets for the new campaign. Notable results include:
- In the Shaft 3 area: 15 intercepts over 1000 g/t Ag, including 3 over 5000 g/t Ag.
- In the Shaft 6 area: 10 intercepts over 1000 g/t Ag, including 5 over 5000 g/t Ag.
- Specific high-grade intervals, such as 11 meters of 2592 g/t silver and 17.6 meters of 1251 g/t silver including 1 meter of 15,436 g/t silver.
Leadership Eyes Maiden Resource in Strong Silver Market
Gary R. Thompson, Chairman and CEO of Brixton Metals, expressed strong optimism about the timing of the program. "We are excited to commence drilling at the Langis Silver Project at a time when silver prices are exceptionally strong," stated Thompson. "This highly favourable silver market allows us to maximize the value of our exploration efforts for our shareholders."
The primary objective of this drill program is to expand the known high-grade zones with enough data to establish an independent maiden mineral resource estimate for the Langis project. Thompson also highlighted the significant discovery potential that remains, noting that while past drilling has focused on areas around historical mine workings, large sections of the property with favourable geology have never been drill-tested.
The Langis Project is classified as a primary silver brownfield exploration project with secondary gold and cobalt mineralization. The geological setting places mineralization near contacts with the Nipissing diabase and at the unconformity between Archean basement rocks and overlying Huronian sediments, a classic setting for high-grade silver in the region.
