Calgary police are investigating a Tuesday morning collision that resulted in a Calgary Transit bus flipping onto its side after a crash with a gravel semi truck.

Incident Details

Emergency crews responded around 7:20 a.m. to the intersection of Peigan Trail S.E. and 26th Street S.E. for a rollover collision involving a gravel semi truck and a full-sized city bus. The bus was later put back on its wheels following the incident.

According to Stuart Brideaux, Public Education Officer with Alberta Paramedic Health, there were six occupants between the two vehicles, including the single occupant of the semi truck. All individuals were assessed at the scene, and three adults were transported to hospital in stable, non-life-threatening condition.

Traffic Disruptions

Northbound lanes of 26th Street S.E. remain closed from Peigan Trail S.E., and westbound Peigan Trail S.E. is reduced to one lane as authorities continue their investigation. Drivers are advised to expect delays and seek alternate routes.

The cause of the collision is under investigation, and no further details have been released at this time.
