South Korean gaming giant WEMADE, the parent company of the WEMIX blockchain ecosystem, has signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) with NICE Information & Telecommunication (NICE I&T), a leading provider of integrated payment solutions and financial services. The partnership aims to research and develop a Web3-traditional finance payment infrastructure, bridging blockchain technology with conventional payment networks.
Strategic Collaboration for Innovation
The agreement establishes a collaborative foundation for both companies to leverage their expertise in blockchain and payment solutions. WEMADE and NICE I&T will conduct joint research, preparatory implementation, and testing to integrate Web3 with traditional financial systems. This long-term partnership focuses on mutual trust and aims to accelerate cross-border payments by incorporating blockchain technology into legacy financial systems.
Key Areas of Focus
The partnership will involve extensive information sharing on stablecoins and blockchain-based payment technologies. A primary focus is evaluating methods to integrate blockchain within existing financial systems to speed up cross-border transactions. Specifically, WEMIX, WEMADE's native coin, and USDC.e, a stablecoin enabling use of Ethereum-based USDC on the WEMIX 3.0 mainnet, will be integrated into NICE I&T's payment networks. Since NICE I&T's footprint covers virtually all merchants in South Korea, this move will unlock real-world usability across nearly all stores nationwide. Additionally, the companies plan to explore the commercial viability of tokenized assets, including Real-World Assets (RWA).
Global Alliance for KRW Stablecoin
Concurrently, NICE I&T will join the Global Alliance for KRW Stablecoin (GAKS), led by WEMADE. Formed in November 2025, GAKS aims to drive real-world utility of KRW-backed stablecoins and includes industry leaders like Chainlink, Chainalysis, CertiK, and Sentbe. Within the alliance, NICE I&T will cooperate on strategies regarding digital asset regulatory trends, market shifts, and the successful issuance of the KRW stablecoin.
