Tara Bosch, the Canadian entrepreneur who sold her candy brand SmartSweets for $360 million, has launched a new snack brand called Snackish. The product is now available nationwide across Canada and at Target stores in the United States.
From Candy to Chips
Bosch, who dropped out of college to create SmartSweets in her kitchen, is now targeting the chip aisle. Snackish was inspired by her daughter Willa's love for potato chips. Bosch set out to create a chip that could be eaten every day without guilt.
“I don’t start with a market gap. I start with a person I love who is being failed by what exists, then I go create it,” said Bosch. “I wanted to eat candy every day and feel good about it with my grandmother. Now I want to eat chips every day and feel good about it with my daughter.”
Product Features
Snackish chips are made with real potatoes, bold seasoning, and avocado oil. They contain potato-powered protein and gut-friendly fiber. The brand offers five flavors: BBQ Bash, Salt Kissed, Jalapeño Kick, Vinegar Rush, and a Canadian-exclusive Best Dressed. Each bag retails for $7.99.
Company Structure
Snackish is self-funded and vertically integrated through its own 65,000-square-foot manufacturing facility called the Snacktory, the first of its kind in North America. The company is women-owned and women-led, with a leadership team experienced in building consumer brands. Every team member holds meaningful equity, and creators like Kat Stickler, Mikayla Matthews, Aspyn Ovard, Vidya Gopalan, and Levi Coralynn are owners from day one.
“I’m passionate about giving other women a seat at the table,” said Bosch.
Availability
Snackish is launching nationwide at Target in the U.S. and at Loblaws and Whole Foods across Canada. For more information, visit eatsnackish.ca or follow @Snackish on social media.
