Renova Homes and Renovations is celebrating the grand opening of its new walkout show home in the Freestone Townhome development in Riversong, Cochrane, with a community-focused event on June 27. The event brings together local businesses, prospective homebuyers, and adoptable canine guests from the Cochrane and Area Humane Society.
Community Celebration in Cochrane
“We really want to embrace the sense of community that makes Cochrane so special,” says Justin Mauro, president of Renova Homes and Renovations. The launch celebration shines a spotlight on Freestone, a collection of 71 townhomes that launched in early 2023.
Walkout Basement Show Home
The newly opened show home showcases Layout A, which features an end unit with a walkout basement—one of Freestone’s most sought-after features. Including the fully developed lower level, the show home offers 1,758 square feet of finished living space spread across three levels, with four bedrooms and 3½ bathrooms.
The walkout homes overlook the Glenbow Valley and feature full-width upper decks and concrete patios below, creating opportunities for indoor-outdoor living rarely seen in townhome developments. Interior finishes include quartz countertops throughout, luxury vinyl plank flooring, nine-foot ceilings, and contemporary finishes.
Floor Plans and Design
The development offers two floor plans. Layout A features end units, while Layout B consists of interior units. Both provide 1,286 square feet of living space with three bedrooms, 2½ bathrooms, and open-concept layouts designed to maximize functionality. Outside, the development embraces a Modern Prairie architectural style characterized by low-sloped rooflines, symmetrical detailing, and a variety of colour palettes for a diverse streetscape.
The townhomes include fully landscaped and fenced yards, an important feature for families and pet owners, along with two dedicated parking stalls directly in front of each residence.
Limited Walkout Inventory
Of the community’s 71 homes, only 15 are walkout units. Mauro says demand has been strong, with over 25 percent of the walkout inventory already sold. “Walkout townhomes, especially in Cochrane, remain limited, particularly those that offer valley views, functional layouts, and proximity to everyday amenities,” he notes. Freestone fills an important market gap by combining these features with the convenience of townhome living.
Mauro credits thoughtful design for much of the project’s success, appealing to both right-sizers and families.
