A Kingston organization has launched a school food hub to provide hot lunches for students in need, aiming to combat food insecurity among children. The initiative, based at Regiopolis-Notre Dame Catholic High School, prepares and distributes nutritious meals to local schools. Suszane Neimanis was seen packing lunches at the high school on April 24, 2026, as part of the program.
Addressing Food Insecurity
The food hub is designed to ensure that children have access to warm, healthy meals during the school day, which can improve concentration, academic performance, and overall well-being. Organizers hope to expand the program to reach more schools in the region.
Community Support
Local volunteers and donors have rallied behind the effort, providing funding and labor to sustain the hub. The initiative reflects a growing recognition of the role schools play in supporting children's basic needs.
By focusing on hot lunches, the program goes beyond traditional snack or breakfast programs, offering a full meal that can make a significant difference for families struggling with food costs.
