Cannabix Technologies Secures Repeat Maritime Order for Alcohol Screening Device
Cannabix Lands Second Maritime Deal for BreathLogix Device

Vancouver-based Cannabix Technologies Inc. has strengthened its foothold in the maritime safety sector with a significant repeat order. The developer of breath analysis technology for marijuana and alcohol has entered into a second sales agreement with an existing European maritime shipping customer for its unmanned BreathLogix alcohol screening system.

Expanding Maritime Safety with Advanced Technology

The new agreement, announced on December 2, 2025, involves the delivery of an additional BreathLogix unit. The device is designed to conduct pre-access breath alcohol testing for crew members, aiming to enhance operational safety at sea. This follow-up order signals growing adoption and satisfaction with the technology within the demanding maritime environment.

The system will be fully integrated with the cloud-based BreathLogix Connect platform, which is powered by Amazon Web Services (AWS). This integration enables a suite of advanced features, including real-time alerts to management, centralized data management, and seamless reporting capabilities. A key upgrade in this deployment is the inclusion of facial recognition technology, which allows for rapid and secure identification of crew members during the testing process.

How the BreathLogix System Operates

The BreathLogix device provides a rapid and accurate breath alcohol check, simultaneously capturing a photograph of the user to confirm identity. It delivers precise Blood Alcohol Content (BAC/BrAC) readings on its screen. When a test result is positive, the system immediately sends reports via SMS and email to designated managers, allowing for swift intervention to prevent potential accidents and injuries.

All test data is securely logged and can be accessed through the dedicated BreathLogix Connect web portal. The device is built for integration with existing site infrastructure, such as doors, turnstiles, gates, and fleet management systems, making it a versatile tool for enforcing sobriety before access to critical work areas.

It supports a wide range of testing scenarios crucial for industrial settings, including:

  • Start-of-shift testing
  • Mandated and random testing
  • Pre-employment screening
  • Return-to-work and post-incident testing

Certification and Market Application

The BreathLogix (Workplace Series) holds a notable certification: it is listed on the U.S. Federal Register Conforming Products List (CPL) for breath alcohol screening devices, which is administered by the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration (NHTSA). This endorsement underscores the device's reliability and accuracy.

Cannabix highlights the system's practical design for administrators. It utilizes patent-pending, pre-calibrated sensor cartridge technology. This feature simplifies maintenance, eliminating the need for expensive calibration equipment and reducing dependence on technician site visits.

While this order is for the maritime industry, Cannabix markets the BreathLogix solution for any sector where operational safety is paramount. Its target markets include mining, oil and gas, industrial sites, trucking, and warehousing.

The company's CEO, Rav Mlait, signed the announcement on behalf of the Board of Directors. Cannabix Technologies Inc. is publicly traded on the Canadian Securities Exchange (CSE: BLO), the OTC markets (BLOZF), and the Frankfurt Exchange (8CT).
