Anuma, a privacy-first AI application co-created by Basic Attention Token co-founder Ankur Nandwani, has officially launched to the public. The app offers a single subscription that provides access to leading AI models including ChatGPT, Claude, Gemini, Grok, and DeepSeek, along with a user-owned encrypted memory that maintains context across all of them. During its beta phase, over 10,000 individuals used the product.
The Problem Anuma Solves
AI adoption has outpaced trust, portability, and data ownership. According to Stanford HAI's 2026 AI Index, generative AI reached 53% adoption within three years—faster than the PC or internet. However, Reuters reported that lawyers are warning users their chatbot conversations could be used against them in court. The Economist also noted that Anthropic and OpenAI are increasingly locking access to their latest models into proprietary ecosystems. This shift gives users more power but less control over their data.
Anuma's Solution
Anuma replaces this trade-off. A single subscription grants access to multiple leading AI models in one place. An encrypted memory carries context across all models, and that memory remains under user control, stored locally on their device and separated from model inference. Users can switch between ChatGPT, Claude, Gemini, Grok, DeepSeek, Kimi, Qwen, Gemma, and other models without losing context. Personal history stays encrypted, user-owned, and excluded from model training.

How Anuma Works
Anuma is built on three core principles:
- One memory across all models: Preferences, projects, writing style, goals, files, and conversation history carry across every session and supported model.
- Every model in one app: Users can switch between leading models mid-conversation without losing context or maintaining separate subscriptions. Council Mode allows users to compare answers from several models side by side.
- Private by default: User data stays on the user's device, with sensitive content encrypted before storage. Anuma cannot decrypt user content, even with full server access.
