Joe Rogan Says White House UFC Fight Booking Was a Mistake
Rogan: White House UFC Fight Booking Was a Mistake

Podcaster Joe Rogan, who served as emcee at Donald Trump’s controversial White House UFC event, has suggested organizers should have thought twice about booking one fighter. Rogan, who endorsed Trump in the 2024 election, addressed fighter Josh Hokit’s slur against former first lady Michelle Obama, after Hokit falsely referred to her as a man following his win.

Rogan Discusses Hokit’s Shtick

“That guy, Josh Hokit, he’s got a shtick. Like, he’s got a character he does, The Incredible Hoke,” Rogan told fellow podcaster Tim Dillon on the latest episode of “The Joe Rogan Experience.” Watch from the 1:42:00 mark on YouTube.

“And so he’s basically like a pro-wrestling bad guy, who also is a really good fighter,” Rogan continued. “So there’s a real problem there. This guy keeps winning.”

White House Venue Questioned

“They probably, in retrospect, if they wanted to avoid this, probably shouldn’t have had him fight on the White House lawn,” Rogan admitted. “Because if he said that at the T-Mobile Arena or in Madison Square Garden, outrageous, but not that big a deal.”

Dillon then joked about what should have happened next. “Michelle Obama should have made an Undertaker-like entrance,” he said, imagining her descending from the sky in a cape before body-slamming Hokit as Trump danced to “YMCA.”

“The country just exists for ratings now anyway. It’s all it exists for,” Dillon added. “That’s all we’re doing anymore. That would have been unbelievable.”

“It would have been unfucking believable, and she would have been president next,” he continued. “She would have been president next with no election. No election. Vance is going to stand up to that?”

Rogan’s Mixed Feelings

Despite criticizing the event beforehand over concerns that the heat could affect the fighters, Rogan also described the White House spectacle as “amazing.”
