Wild FC unveil new kits with Calgary kids, hope to reverse season

Students of Calgary's Sundance School helped Wild FC players unveil the club's new third kit on Tuesday, June 23, 2026, as the struggling National Soccer League side looks to turn around its season with fresh uniforms and a new sponsorship deal.

New kit, new hope for Wild FC

The red-based 'Strike Kit,' featuring white and purple accents with faint owl feather patterns, was revealed during a community outreach event at the school. The kit is designed to embody owl traits of boldness, stealth, and attack-readiness, symbolizing protection, unity, and strength in numbers.

“Yeah … I think for us, we’re just trying to do our best to reset and kind of move on from the results that have happened and gain momentum,” said Wild FC forward Mya Jones, who attended Sundance School as a child. “And I feel like unveiling the new kits is kind of like a turning point for us, or, at least, that’s what we’re trying to do. They’re really awesome, and I feel like they represent the city really well with the colours, so we’re really excited to show them off.”

National Bank becomes jersey sponsor

National Bank has signed a multi-year deal with the NSL club to have its logo featured on the chest of the jerseys. The partnership marks a significant investment in the women's professional team as it seeks to build its brand and community presence.

Wild FC players, including Jones, participated in the unveiling with kindergarten through Grade 6 students. Jones described the experience as “pretty amazing” and “really fun,” noting the connection with the children and the handmade signs.

“I genuinely haven’t been back here in 15 years,” Jones added. “So being able to step back in was really special. And then my kindergarten teacher is actually here. She retired last year and came back, so that was very nostalgic.”

Team looks to debut kit with a win

The Wild (0W-5L-2D) will debut the new uniforms on Saturday when they host the Halifax Tides (3-3-2) at McMahon Stadium. The team hopes the fresh look and renewed energy will help change their fortunes on the field.

“I love them — I think they’re my favourite kit so far,” Jones said. “And I think they’re a representation of the city. I think for us moving forward, we just want to do our best to represent the city in the best way possible with the results in the field but also showing up in the community, which is what we’re doing with this school visit.”

Inspiration for the next generation

Lucille Bouchard, Jones’ former kindergarten teacher who retired last year but returned for the event, highlighted the significance of the visit. “I think this is so inspirational for all these kids to know that if they have a dream, that they can actually work at it and reach it,” Bouchard said. “And it’s great to see them give back to the community. We all should do that.”

The event underscored the power of sport to inspire young people and reinforced the message that big dreams can begin in Calgary classrooms, playgrounds, and sporting fields.
