"I think it gives me an edge to be able to block or use my head to be more difficult to block when it's elbows up on the ice," Dandjinou explained. "For sure, I'm able to take in the contact/shoves a bit more and give some too, even though it's not really my style."
His skating technique involves maintaining an exceptionally low angle on the ice, which he acknowledges is demanding on his legs but provides greater amplitude and increased speed. This approach, combined with his height, allows him to effectively block competitors during the intense, close-quarter pack racing characteristic of short-track events.

Despite his success, Dandjinou admits that his height presents ongoing challenges. "Even to this day, I am not the most stable skater compared to others, but it's something I'm managing every day. It's constant work," he revealed.

In 2022, Dandjinou experienced what he describes as a "heartbreaking" disappointment when he failed to qualify for the Canadian team bound for the Beijing Olympics, finishing sixth when only five quota spots were available for men's short-track speedskating.
"I felt that I had the strength to make it to the team, and I think I proved it afterwards," Dandjinou reflected. "I think it was essential to my progress to go through such a disappointment, and it made me take things to the next level, but, yes, it was definitely heartbreaking."

Despite missing the 2022 Olympics, Dandjinou has established himself as a world-class competitor.
