The Toronto Maple Leafs have parted ways with assistant general managers Brandon Pridham and Derek Clancey, the team announced Wednesday. The moves are part of a front office restructuring under new general manager Brad Treliving, who took over in 2023.
Pridham's Tenure
Pridham had been with the Leafs since 2014, serving as assistant GM and overseeing salary cap management and contract negotiations. He was a key figure in navigating the team's cap challenges while signing core players like Auston Matthews, Mitch Marner, and William Nylander.
Clancey's Role
Clancey joined the Leafs in 2015 as director of player personnel before being promoted to assistant GM in 2019. He focused on scouting and player development, helping build the team's prospect pool.
The departures come after the Leafs were eliminated in the first round of the playoffs for the second straight year. Treliving is reshaping his hockey operations staff, with an emphasis on analytics and modern scouting methods.
Neither Pridham nor Clancey have announced their next moves, but both are expected to receive interest from other NHL teams.
