The Montreal Victoire have signed forward Emma Maltais to a two-year contract, the Professional Women's Hockey League team announced Monday.
Contract details
The deal keeps the 26-year-old Ontario native in Montreal through the 2027-28 season. Financial terms were not disclosed.
Maltais, a two-time Olympian with Team Canada, has spent her entire PWHL career with the Victoire since the league launched in 2024. She helped Canada win gold at the 2022 Beijing Winter Olympics and a silver medal at the 2026 Milan-Cortina Games.
Career statistics
In 75 career PWHL regular-season games, Maltais has recorded 18 goals and 29 assists for 47 points. She added 3 goals and 5 assists in 12 playoff games.
“Emma is a dynamic forward who brings speed, skill and a championship pedigree to our lineup,” Victoire general manager Danièle Sauvageau said in a statement. “We are thrilled to have her committed to Montreal for the next two years.”
Impact on the team
Maltais was a key contributor to Montreal’s run to the PWHL finals in the 2024-25 season, where they fell to the Toronto Sceptres in five games. Her signing solidifies the team's forward core as they prepare for the 2026-27 campaign.
“Montreal has become my home, and I’m excited to continue building something special here,” Maltais said. “We have a great group of players and coaches, and I believe we can win a championship.”
