A 13-year-old boy from Brampton has been charged after he allegedly took his parents' vehicle and fled from Ontario Provincial Police officers in Gravenhurst early Tuesday morning.

The Bracebridge Detachment of the Ontario Provincial Police responded to a report of a stolen vehicle around 3:30 a.m. on May 19, 2026. Officers located the vehicle and attempted a traffic stop, but the driver fled, initiating a pursuit. The chase concluded without further incident, and the youth was taken into custody.
Charges Laid
The 13-year-old is now facing multiple charges, including possession of property obtained by crime over $5,000, flight from police, and dangerous operation of a motor vehicle. The identity of the youth cannot be released under the Youth Criminal Justice Act.
