RCMP Warn of Event Booking Scam Targeting Alberta Vendors

Fort Saskatchewan RCMP are warning Alberta vendors not to participate in an advertised June crafting event that they say is a scam. The Northern Prairie Craft, Food & Vendor Fair, promoted as a three-day event from June 26-28 at the Dow Centennial Centre, is fraudulent, according to a Wednesday news release.

Scam Details

Mounties confirm the event is a scheme to defraud both the rental facility and any vendors who use the event's Eventbrite link to secure a table. RCMP urge caution and advise against signing up for the market.

Reporting Fraud

Victims of fraud can report incidents to local police or the Canadian Anti-Fraud Centre at www.antifraudcentre.ca or by calling 1-888-495-8501. Authorities encourage vendors to verify event legitimacy before making payments.
