Prohibited driver faces charges after fleeing OPP in Serpent River First Nation
An individual who was prohibited from driving is now facing a series of charges after allegedly fleeing from Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) officers in Serpent River First Nation. The incident took place on May 20, 2026, and has resulted in multiple criminal allegations.
According to police reports, officers attempted to stop a vehicle for a traffic violation when the driver failed to comply and sped away. A pursuit ensued, but officers were able to safely bring the situation to an end without any injuries. Upon investigation, it was determined that the driver was under a driving prohibition at the time of the incident.
The accused now faces charges including flight from police, dangerous operation of a motor vehicle, and operating a motor vehicle while prohibited. The individual has been released from custody and is scheduled to appear in court at a later date to answer to these allegations.
