Natalie Maines Calls Trump 'Fugly Slut' in Fiery Instagram Rant
Maines Slams Trump as 'Fugly Slut' on Instagram

The Chicks singer Natalie Maines is stirring up political controversy once again. On Monday, Maines took to Instagram to criticize President Donald Trump, calling him a 'fugly slut' in a post that she predicted would be removed.

Maines' Instagram Outburst

'Our democracy is disappearing right before our eyes,' Maines wrote. 'This fugly slut is using your gas money to pay the insurrectionists. But don't worry about it. I'm sure posting selfies will fix everything. My last post that called him a fugly slut got removed. We'll see how long this one lasts. Repost and help the message live.'

She accompanied her text with photos of the January 6, 2021, attack on the U.S. Capitol by a mob supporting Trump. Maines' comments come amid concerns that Trump may use the Justice Department's $1.8 billion Anti-Weaponization Fund to compensate those convicted for their roles in the Capitol riot.

Return to Activism

After a period of inactivity on this particular Instagram account, Maines appears to have returned with a vengeance. Her last lengthy post about Trump was dated January 6, 2021, where she wrote: 'This mentally diseased baby man racist is in control of the red button at this very moment. He needs to go. It's enough! You're fired! Go away. Leave us alone.'

History of Political Feuds

Trump is not the only Republican president Maines has targeted. In 2003, she criticized George W. Bush during a concert in London. That backlash led to radio stations banning The Chicks' music and a significant drop in their chart performance. The band, which has won 13 Grammys, was originally known as the Dixie Chicks but rebranded in 2020 to distance themselves from the Confederacy.
